Mexico City, November 29, 2025. A new comprehensive insurance program was unveiled this week, aimed at tackling some of the most pressing, everyday threats faced by families in the capital: fires, home damage, violent theft, loss of rental income, and the cascading effects of domestic emergencies. Unlike traditional policies, this model goes beyond financial reimbursement, integrating emotional support, legal counsel, and operational assistance from the first minute - an approach aligned with the Prometeo Protocol.

The announcement took place at a multidisciplinary forum where specialists in security, urban development and asset protection examined the city’s evolving risk landscape. Their conclusion was blunt: the home is no longer a fully safe space. In recent years, Mexico City has seen a sustained rise in home break-ins, electrical-failure fires, gas leaks, structural deterioration, and events that directly undermine household stability. The new policy aims to close those gaps with a forward-looking, preventive framework.

One of the program’s most notable features is its coverage of violent robberies, both inside the home and on the street. The policy protects cell phones, handbags, watches and other personal items when victims are assaulted in public - a crime that has become part of daily life for thousands of residents. In a city where many insurers still exclude this type of incident, the coverage positions the policy as a more realistic tool for urban life.

The insurance also addresses fires - one of the most pervasive silent risks in urban housing. In Mexico City, over 40% of household fires stem from aging electrical systems, improvised wiring or overloaded circuits. The policy covers structural damage, appliances, personal belongings and provides immediate assistance to safeguard the home and temporarily relocate affected families.

Another critical component is rental income protection, designed for those who rely on property earnings. If damage renders a unit uninhabitable, the policy covers lost rent during repairs or relocation, addressing a financial reality that directly impacts family stability.

But the feature that drew the most attention was the human-centered support. The policy does not end with economic compensation: it includes psychological counseling after traumatic events, legal guidance, assistance with filing reports, operational management and sustained emotional support. This ensures individuals and families do not face the aftermath of violence or disaster alone.

Its integration with the Prometeo system guarantees rapid activation. Whether a violent theft occurs on the street, a home is breached, or a fire endangers a family, assistance is deployed within minutes. This is not a standalone product but a key component within a broader protection ecosystem built for the complexity of modern-day Mexico City.

The launch marks a shift in how households are safeguarded. It is not a passive model; it is an active, human, preventive response - one designed for the realities of everyday life in the capital.
